It's amazing how many people fee l they have to stay on Disney Property to have a TRUE Disney vacation. This is simply not true. Granted, staying on site does give you 24 hours a day of Disney Magic, but if this makes or breaks your vacation plans, stay off site.
We have done both. We'd rather stay on-site, but if it is the only thing keeping us from going, we'll stay off site.
My 1st trip as a parent, I took my oldest, when he was only 6 (now 24). I had gotten a Health Care Discount, due to I worked in a Nursing Home. We got 2 days for the price of 1.
Tip #1: Look for discounts: Florida Residents, Health Care, Teachers, Military, Law Enforcement, etc.
